Our Story

TouchRight Software is proud to be one of the UK’s leading PropTech companies, comprising of a small dedicated team as well as a number of specialist associates, who are passionate about bringing the latest technology to the world of property and ensuring that its customers receive personal assistance and ongoing support to maximise the benefits of the software.

The original co-founders, Terry and Rachel Lightfoot, owned and managed a property services business in York working with many leading local agents and landlords, alongside a team of clerks carrying out various property reports.

This, in addition to their many years as landlords; gave them unique first-hand experience of the challenges faced by busy agents to produce high quality, detailed reports to add even more value to their managed services.

Being big advocates of technology, they introduced online booking forms and document file-sharing systems for their customers to help with efficiencies and streamline their processes.

They were always looking for a great software solution for their property services business and felt there was a gap in the market for a more flexible, customisable system.

By combining their unique skills and 50 years’ experience in software, property and marketing they knew they could create a great software solution. So TouchRight Software was born in 2012!

By distilling the difficult process of paper based reporting into a slick and completely customisable digital experience available in the palm of your hand, TouchRight very quickly found success. Constant networking and customer interaction (from industry titans right through to independent agents) combined with a rapidly improving and expanding platform enabled TouchRight to grow and grow over the next decade with each year bringing exciting new features and integrations with leading providers from every corner of the lettings world.

With this growth came continued recognition and industry acknowledgement as TouchRight became the recipient of multiple prestigious awards and was included on many definitive PropTech rankings.

This culminated in 2022 with TouchRight being acquired by Plentific, one of the leading property management platforms operating in the UK, Germany and the US. Whilst this pushed TouchRight to a wider audience and expanded its customer base, Terry and Rachel continued on to steward the system and to ensure that the founding ethos of customer care continued to be the driving force behind the platform.

After 12 years and many millions of reports under their belts, 2024 saw Terry and Rachel take a step back and then, with Plentific’s core focus changing direction; 2025 saw an exciting new chapter begin as TouchRight was acquired by Miriam Roth, a well-known London property entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience in property management, inspections and a background in software. Miriam brings with her a renewed focus on customer care, innovation, usability and frontline value for estate agents & landlords alongside an energised commitment to continuous improvement in 2025 and beyond!
