1. Getting Started

What type of property reports can I use TouchRight for?

All types of property reports, including inventories, check ins, mid-terms, check outs, Legionnella and maintenance reports.  Using the comprehensive template builder, you can also create any other type of property report that you might need, including maintenance reports and pre-tenancy reports.  There’s also the facility to link reports together, for example viewing and updating an inventory report during the check out process.  

How do I sign up for the TouchRight free trial?

Setting up TouchRight is easy and you don’t need to install or download any software to your hard drive. We recommend all customers start with our free trial, which allows you to add up to 5 properties and unlimited inspections so that you can get a feel for the software and how it can make your business more efficient.

How to get your FREE trial up and running:

1. Click on the “Sign Up Now” button for the FREE package on the pricing page.

2. Fill in your details and submit. No bank details will be taken on a free trial package.

3. Once you’ve set up your account, you’ll receive a welcome email so you can get started.

4. Download the mobile app from either the App Store or Google Play (depending on the device you are using). These links can be found on the TouchRight home page.

5. Your account set up is now complete and you’re ready to start adding properties, adding users and scheduling appointments/completing reports! 

We recommend you spend a few minutes looking at our training videos on the Training page, including ‘How to Get Started with your Account in 5 easy steps’ video which will outline the 5 things you need to do to get your account fully set up and running, like adding your company logos and your own terms and conditions to personalise your inspection reports.  You can also  follow the steps 1-10 on our Trial page.

How many users can I set up in my account?

You can set up an unlimited number of users in your account, so for example the Office Manager, property maintenance team and inspectors can all use the same Dashboard and can view properties and reports in one place. This helps you centrally organise your staff and manage time effectively.  You can also set permissions for each user, which is useful if you have external staff and you want to limit access to parts of your account.

How do I upgrade my account once the free trial is finished?

The first 5 properties can be entered into the system completely free of charge, and any number of reports can be created on those properties. Once you decide to add more properties or reports, just click on the Upgrade button in your Dashboard, and you will be directed to the Upgrade Account page, where you can select the package that you would like to upgrade to.  Once you’ve made your selection, you’ll be directed to the GoCardless payment engine (similar to PayPal) where you will need to enter your payment details.  Then your direct debit will ready to go, and you will be billed every 30 days or at the beginning of each month, depending on the package you’ve signed up to.

Do I need to install any software?

No. Because TouchRight is a cloud-based program, you won’t need to download or install any software.

However, each user will need to download the TouchRight app to their mobile device. To do this, go to the App Store or Android store or use the link on the website when you sign up.

2. Activating Devices

What device or phone do I need to be able to use TouchRight Software?

The TouchRight app has been designed for the iOS and Android operating systems. It currently runs on any iPhone, iPad or Android device. It is important to use a device with a camera (the first iPad doesn’t have a camera) and a flash is preferable.  To get the best user experience we recommend you use TouchRight on devices with at least 1GB of memory.  For iOS, this means using TouchRight on iPad (3rd generation) and upwards, and iPad mini 2 and upwards (not iPad mini 1st generation).

Recommended devices:

  • Running the latest versions of iOS and Android
  • Minimum 1GB of memory (RAM)
  • We have many customers using the Tesco Hudl2 Android tablet.  It’s WiFi-only with a 5MP camera, HD 8.3 inch screen (ideal size for using all day) and comes with 2GB of memory
I don’t have an iPhone, iPad or Android. Can I use other platforms like Windows or Blackberry?

No, currently TouchRight is designed to work on the iOS and Android platforms. If you don’t have a compatible device, let us know and we can help you source one.

I can’t remember my password. What should I do?

Simply click on the ‘Forgotten Password’ link on the Dashboard or app and an email will be sent to you to help you reset your password.

How do I change users when a staff member leaves or new staff arrive?

If you are the Account Owner, you can deactivate a user’s access at any time (by deleting their account in the ‘Users’section). You can also create a new user by adding their name and email details. Please see the training videos for more details on how to do this.

How do I login?

Your user name is your email address and you will have set your password when you first created the account, or the Account Owner may have created your account and password for you.

3. How do the App and Dashboard work?

Can I use TouchRight if I’m in a limited or poor connection area?

You must be in a WiFi or 3G zone and logged in to initially sync across any appointments to your device.  However once you are out of signal range and in an area with little or no network coverage you can still use TouchRight as normal. Your reports and data will save as you go, so you won’t lose any report data.  Once you have network or WiFi coverage you’ll be ready to synchronise reports to your Dashboard. 

What is the Dashboard?

The Dashboard is your main Account control area, where you can manage properties, reports, users and book your appointments.

You can use the Dashboard to manage property details, view any report (including past reports for a property) and assign appointments to staff. You can also use the Dashboard to modify any report, download it as a PDF document and email it to a client.

Best of all, because your Dashboard is cloud-based you can access it from anywhere, so long as you have your log in details. You don’t even need any software to install your Dashboard and it will save any updates automatically.

What if I need to make changes to a report I’ve just saved?

You can still make changes to the report, via the Dashboard. Use the simple search function to locate the property and report, then edit the report’.  Once you’ve finished editing, just save and complete and you can download or email the report as a PDF.  

4. How safe is TouchRight?

Is my data safe?

Yes, your data is completely safe.

TouchRight is committed to protecting you and your clients’ information. We have industry standard network monitoring tools running on our servers to protect the security of your data. We also back up our servers regularly to ensure that we have a safe and secure copy of everything you submit to us.

What happens if I lose my device?

Your account at TouchRight is linked to your unique login credentials, and in turn your account is secure should you misplace your device. Also, because all of your information is stored online, all you need to do is sign in to the app again to get your information back.

We’d recommend if a staff member leaves, then the Account Owner should delete their TouchRight user account.

5. Getting the most from your Account

How do your pricing plans work?

We offer a range of flexible monthly plans to suit your business needs. There are no start-up costs, fixed-term contracts, or user and device limits on any plan.

  • All Inclusive – fixed monthly pricing starts from £25 per month.  These are ideal plans for volume users – 2+ reports per property per year can be lower than £1 each. Budget more easily and spread the cost!
  • Monthly Lite – fixed minimum pricing £10 per month.  Includes 4 reports per month.  Ideal plan for users who want to pay-as-they-go but still want full customised reports. Additional reports cost £2.50 each.
  • Report and Go – £2 per report.  Ideal plan for users who want to pay-as-they-go, only use the ready-made templates and store their own reports.

All plans include a free 5-property trial to get started.

All billing is done monthly via the GoCardless payment engine (similar to PayPal).  Once you’ve upgraded your account after your trial, you will directed to set-up a GoCardless account and  add your payment details.  Then your direct debit will ready to go, and you will be billed every 30 days or at the beginning of each month, depending on the package you’ve signed up to.

Can I switch plans or cancel?

You can switch plans at any time to suit your usage.  If you’d like to cancel your plan altogether, we will need 30 days notice from you in writing. All property data and reports will be unavailable once you cancel.

Can I host my own data?

You can save reports onto your own hard drive but you can’t host the data. That’s because when we store it on our servers we know it’s being kept in the most secure environment possible. We also know it’s stored in the most cost-effective way for our clients.
